Betty Grace Carr, 94, of
Baraboo, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at St. Clare Hospice House. Betty was born in her
home on Aug. 1, 1923 in the Township of Baraboo, the daughter of Ray and Marie
(Metcalf) Astle. She was a 1941 graduate of Baraboo High School and grew-up in
the Merrimac area during her childhood. O n April 20, 1946 she was
united in marriage to Douglas A. Carr at First United Methodist Church in
Baraboo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1980. Survivors include a
daughter, Janice Carroll of Porter, Texas; six grandchildren, David, Kristy,
Doug and Michael Carroll, and Ryan and Andrea Batchelor; 13
great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Gwynlee)
Astle of Bakersfield, California; one sister-in-law, Waunita Nass, Bonnie
Morgan and Lorraine McMillan; and two brother-in-laws, Jimmy and Logan Carr. In addition to her
parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Bachelor;
three son-in-laws, Du Wayne Batchelor, Larry and James Carroll; and three sister-in-laws,
Bonnie Morgan, Lorraine McMillan and Waunita Nass. Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. on
Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo, with Pastor Marianne
Cotter officiating. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the family with
arrangements.
