Jerald “Jerry” Elmer
Nolden, 74, of Baraboo, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at St. Clare
Meadows Care Center with his loving family by his side.
Jerald was born on May 15, 1943 in
Baraboo, the son of Elmer and Caroline (Cecka) Nolden. On July 21, 1984 he was
united in marriage to Ruth Elizabeth Tinkham at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church in North Freedom. Jerald was employed at Deppe Enterprises until his
retirement.
Jerry enjoyed playing sheeps head
with his Wednesday group of friends. He also enjoyed gardening, projects in his
garage and was an active member of his church for 35 years. Most important to
him was spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 34
years, Ruth; his mother, Caroline; three children, Debbie (Ken Slaton) Nolden,
Wendy (Blaine) Bill, Pam (Rick) Smothers; two step-sons, Jamie and Curt
Rathman; seven grandchildren, Katelin (Brent) Rick, Shawna (Gunnar Yaegar)
Meeker, Miranda (Matt) Smothers, Austin (Jenny) Smothers, Carley (Trae
Finnegan) Bill, Jordan (Olivia Hartley) Bill, Brenton Nolden; six
great-grandchildren, Zoey, Aiden, Frankie, Payton, Oden and Natalie; one
brother, Tim (Kathy) Nolden; four sisters, Shirley (Darrell) Vorndran, Bev (Larry)
Skwor, Cindy (Bob) Hackett, Katie (John) Crone and his “other” brother, Greg
(Alice) Nolden; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his
father and his brother, Ron.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 106 S.
Maple St., North Freedom, with Pastor Andrew Meyer officiating. Visitation will
be at the church from 9 a.m. until time of services. Burial will take place in
Oak Hill Cemetery, North Freedom. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to
St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. Clare Meadows Care Center.
The family would like to give a
special thank you to Dr. Randy Krszjzaniek and the staff at St. Clare Meadows
Care Center and St. Clare Hospital for the loving care and attention given to
Jerry.
The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is
assisting the family with arrangements.
