Matthew G.
Bair, 49, of Baraboo, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017.
Matthew was
born on March 13, 1968 the son of Charles and Jennifer (Brannan) Bair in
Columbus, WI.
Matthew was
a talented athlete, collecting many awards during his high school years in
Baraboo. Possessing many skills and interests, Matthew spent most of his career
in the trades, but also served as a First Responder and Volunteer Fireman in
Lyndon Station many years ago. Most recently, Matthew worked as a manager at
Menards. His work meant a lot to him, as did his co-workers and his dedication
to his job was evident.
In his free
time, Matthew loved to bargain hunt, collecting sports cards and various antiques.
He was skilled at woodworking, creating and refinishing beautiful pieces. He
was also known to be able to fix nearly anything.
Matthew had
a love for country music and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and
spending time with family and friends. Matthew will be fondly remembered for
his fun-loving energy and infectious laugh. He will be dearly missed by many.
He was
preceded in death by his father, Charles Bair; grandparents, Esther and Richard
Brannan, and Harold and Evelyn Bair; uncle, Allan Bair; aunt, Prentice
(Brannan) Elkins; and brother-in-law, Adam Luedtke.
Matthew is
survived by his sons, Tyler Bair Raddatz and Alex Bair Westfall; mother, Jennifer (Brannan) Kimball; stepmother, Barb Bair; his
siblings, Charles “Hank” Bair, Jason Bair, Amanda (Kimball) Luedtke and Jesse
Bair; niece and nephew, Tessa and Nolan Luedtke; and dear friend, Jackie
Dobratz; along with many other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
A
Celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017
at the Rago Baldwin Funeral Home, Baraboo, with Pastor Amos Vandehei
officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of
service.
The Rago Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is
assisting the family with the arrangements.
