La Valle – Antonio Morales, 79, of La Valle, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s hospital in Madison. Antonio was born on October 13, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Antonio and Maria (Alcozer) Morales Sr.. He was an over-the-road truck driver for over 50 years and drove for several trucking companies including D&T Trucking in St. Paul, Minn., and Heding Transport in Union Center. In 1952 he married Genevieve Rameriz and from this marriage he had 8 children. After a divorce, he then married Lettie Butcher on Aug. 24, 1985 in La Valle. From this marriage they had two children. Antonio was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lettie, and their two children, Brent and Michael Morales of Baraboo; his children from his first marriage, Antonio (Sheryle) Morales, of Bricelyn, Minn., Angie Budde of Nevis, Minn., Mary Helen Johnson of Owatonna, Minn., David (Melinda) Morales of Jordan, Minn., Michael (Lidia) Morales of Rosemount, Minn., Patricia Chapman of Princeton, Minn., Rebecca (Douglas) Busho of Rosemount, Minn.; three step-children, Kathy Tanner of Fresno, Calif., Debbie (Bill) Watts of Reedsburg, Jim Tanner of Chloe, W. Va.; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Goyo (Lorraine) Morales and Marty (Karen) Morales of Minn.; three sisters, Adella Morris of Lynnwood, Wash., Susie (John) Clancy of Mesa, Ariz., and Bebe (Craig) Stangland of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a special niece and nephew, Patricia and John Baldwin of Charleston, W. Va.; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Hector; two brothers, Joe and Luther; and one sister, Anita Rios. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, with Deacon Tom Hale officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until time of services.
