Lillian "Lil" Adams

April 25, 2018
Lillian “Lil” Adams, 88, of Baraboo, slipped away while loved ones dozed nearby on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Lil was originally from Port-Aux-Basques, Newfoundland, Canada. She came to the States following her marriage to Sparky Adams, a Coast Guard serviceman. They moved to Baraboo in the early 1960’s and Lil was known for 40 years to many as the sassy cashier at Isenberg’s Hardware Store. In retirement, her favorite pastimes included playing bridge, trips to Ho-Chunk casino, and lunches with friends. Lil is survived by a daughter, Linda (Paul) Hawn of Waukegan, Illinois; niece, Hope (David) Anderson Neil of Ottawa, Canada; nephew, Floyd (Alma Hulan) Anderson of Port-Aux-Basques, Canada; and other beloved members of the Hawn and Adams families. In addition to her parents, Lil was preceded in death by a son, Allan Adams; and a brother, Ken Anderson. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Baraboo, with Pastor Marianne Cotter officiating. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo or to a charity of your choice. In celebration of Lil’s life, share a smile or a laugh, host a card party, throw those Yahtzee dice or give your favorite doctor a jar of olives. Wisdom of the word: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - Psalm 73:26
