Russell George Gasser, 88, of
Baraboo, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 at St Clare Meadows Care
Center.
Russell was born on Jan. 2, 1929 in
the Township of Troy in Sauk County, the son of Almon and Ruth (Cooper) Gasser.
On Feb. 3, 1973, he married Sandra Harman in Sauk City.
Russell was employed at Eagle Signal
for over 30 years and was a night watchman at St. Clare Hospital. In addition,
he also worked for the City of Baraboo in the Park and Recreation department
for several years. In his spare time, Russell enjoyed going to the Steam and
Gas show, gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 44
years, Sandra; son, Randall (Allison) Gasser; daughter, Julie Stanford; three
grandsons and one granddaughter; special cousin, Neil Koch, and special friend,
Ron Marquaret; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents and one infant granddaughter.
Private family graveside services will take place in Oak Hill
Cemetery in North Freedom. Memorials in memory of Russell may be given to the
family. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the
family with arrangements.
