Mauston-Lorraine G. Olson, 80, of Mauston, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston. Lorraine was born on May 18, 1933 in Baraboo, the daughter of Lester and Gennevieve (Newell) Kent. She attended Baraboo area schools and on Aug. 13, 1950 she was united in marriage to Melvin R. Olson at the First United Presbyterian Church in Baraboo. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2005. Lorraine worked as a coil winder at Industrial Coils of Baraboo for over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and arts and Crafts. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her three children, Lonnie (Linda) Olson of Wonewoc, Lyle Olson of Mauston, and Sandra (Gary) Janisch of Mauston; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by a son, Keith; a grandson, Joshua; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe McQueen. A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Necedah United Methodist Church, 605 N. Harvey St., Necedah, with Pastor Bill Dow officiating. Private interment will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lonnie Olson, 203 West St., Wonewoc, WI. 53968. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
