Beulah Belle Bendorf
Beulah Belle Bendorf, age 93, of Baraboo, formerly of Mount Horeb, passed away on April 6, 2013 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. Beulah was born on May 30, 1919 in Fennimore, the daughter of Thomas and Lillie (Saunders) Watchorn. She was united in marriage to Fredrick Bendorf in 1939 and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1991. Beulah enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, antiques, traveling and her pets. Fred and Beulah traveled the world and have been to every continent except Antarctica. They shared a love of antiques and owned a business called Bendorf Collectables for many years. In addition, she had a worked in the greenhouses at Olds Seeds Co., off of Fish Hatchery Road, in Madison. Beulah is survived by her son, Thomas Bendorf of Lac du Flambeau; her three grandchildren, Amy Bendorf Schertz (William) of Baraboo, Daniel Bendorf (Juli Hamilton) of Palmyra, Jonathan Bendorf (Heather) of River Falls; her great-granddaughter, Sydnee Bendorf of River Falls. She is also survived by two nieces, Dorothy Holman (Bill) of Highland, and JoAnn Hinz of Middleton; a nephew, Dick Hugill (JoAnne) of Livingston; her sister-in-law, Virginia Boushon, of Verona; and several cousins; other family members; dear friends; neighbors; and her cat, Gracie. In addition to her husband and parents, Beulah was preceded in death by her dear son, John Bendorf, who died in 1963 of a motorcycle accident; a sister, Blanche; a brother, Glenn; a nephew Bill Holman, who passed just this last January; and her many beloved pet dogs and cats. Private family graveside services will take place this spring, in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sauk County Humane Society. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements. You were a delight to all who knew you.
