Leila "Lee" Tuttle Ott
Baraboo, WI. – Leila "Lee" Tuttle Ott, age 99, passed away in her sleep at Meadow Ridge Assisted Living in Baraboo on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Leila was born October 9, 1924 in Baraboo, WI to Charles R. and Charlotte (Armstrong) Tuttle. She spent her childhood in Baraboo graduating from Baraboo Senior High School in 1942. After graduating from high school, Lee worked at the Badger Army Ammunition plant in Sauk City, WI during WWII, and then spent time after the war working at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, IL before returning to Baraboo. On September 23, 1946 Leila was united in marriage to Robert B. “Bob” Ott from Baraboo. They enjoyed over 67 years of marriage together until his death in 2013. From this union they were blessed with five children, four daughters and one son. Lee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Baraboo, and the Order of Eastern Star. She also served as president of Baraboo Youth Hockey and enjoyed working many summers at Devil's Lake Concessions. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and excelled at baking and cooking for family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Bob, Lee was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Dunn; five brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her five children, Mary Lee (Ron) Laitsch, Sue Ann (Kent) Krueger, Sally (Brian) Dunn, Terri (Bill Wulf) Ott and Robert Michael Ott; her five grandchildren, Jason, Cory and Amy Laitsch, and Robert and Patrick Dunn; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospitals. Baldwin Funeral Services, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
