Baraboo, WI. – Robert J. Hocum, age 80, of Baraboo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the New Glarus Home. After graduating from Baraboo High School, Robert served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1962 to 1968. Robert was born into the circus family where he pursued his passion as a trapeze artist. He enjoyed entertaining and making new friends while traveling across the country. In addition to his parents, Ray V. and Helen (Schenck) Hocum Sr., Robert is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Hocum Jr. and Richard Hocum. He is survived by a nephew, Neal (Monica) Hocum; niece, Stephanie (Matthew) Watrud; great-nieces and great-nephews, Matthew (Cora) Hocum, Anna Hocum, Natalia Watrud, Adam Watrud, Maya Watrud, Matthew Hocum Jr., Micah Hocum; and friends, Todd and Dianna Stenson. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Baldwin Funeral Services, 520 East St., Baraboo, with Pastor Amos Vande Hei officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
