Frieda Lawsha

Frieda Lawsha, 94,
of Baraboo, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at St. Clare Meadows Care
Center. She was born July 3, 1924 in Germany to Franz and Lydia Gauger. Frieda,
her parents, two brothers and sister (Henry, Kurt and Eva) came to the United
States in 1927. On June 25, 1943 Frieda
married Reay Erwin Lawsha. They were married for 64 years until his passing on
Aug. 23, 2007.
Frieda retired from Flambeau
Plastics after 30 years. She served on the Alter Guild at St John’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Baraboo. Frieda enjoyed working in all of her flower
gardens, especially with her grandchildren helping her. Survivors include
two daughters; Judy Klee (Doug Lindgren) and Janice Tauber; grandchildren,
Sheila Weihert (Carl Steele) and Jason Klee (Jodi); great-grandchildren,
Machesney Thiel (Kyle), Griffin Weihert, Connor Steele, Shawn Steele (Hannah), Karissa
Klee, MaKayla Klee and Julianna Klee; great-great grandchildren, Jackson Steele
and Carolynn Klee. In addition to her
husband and parents, Frieda was preceded in death by her brothers Kurt and
Henry Gauger; sister, Eva Retzlaff; sons-in-law, Don Klee and Paul Tauber. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center, 1414 Jefferson St.,
Baraboo, with Pastor Tim Kuske officiating. Interment will take place in Rock
Hill Cemetery, Baraboo Township. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to
a charity of one’s choice. Baldwin Funeral Services, 520 East St., Baraboo, is
assisting the family with arrangements.
