Lee Allen Luetkens

Lee Allen Luetkens, 72, of Baraboo, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. Lee was born on Feb. 19, 1946 in Baraboo. He was a 1964 graduate of Baraboo High School and was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country during the Vietnam war. After being honorably discharged in 1967, he returned to the states and married Karen Harmon at the First Baptist Church in Baraboo. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2017. Lee worked at Kliens Plastic Manufacturing Company, Scotts Construction, and later at South Central Newspapers in Portage where he retired after 15 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors with hunting and fishing. Lee was a handyman and enjoyed working on old cars and trucks in his garage. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy (Kenneth) Luetkens; his children, Shane, Tonya (Jim) Steinhorst, and Trever; grandchildren, Damien, Chelsie and Tyler; three great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Carol) Luetkens; a sister, Glenna Rathman; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Karen, Lee was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Hill. A Memorial service for Lee and Karen will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, with Pastor William “Bill” Haskins officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at which time military rites will be provided by the Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard.
