- Charles “Ed” Edward Godt, 77, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, formerly of Baraboo, departed this
life on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. Charles was born on Oct.
5, 1940 in Dixon, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Dyanne Caroline
Trachsler on Aug. 20, 1960 in Greensboro, North Carolina and to this union four
children were born. Charles spent his working years as a mechanic, technical
instructor at all levels and a trouble shooter for several different companies.
He served two terms as Mayor of the Village of Lake Moor, Illinois and was on
the Village board for twenty years. Charles was a loving son, brother, husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and was of the protestant faith.
He leaves to mourn in his passing wife, Dyanne Godt of Cherokee Village,
Arkansas; two sons, Gregory J. Godt and wife Cathy of Cleveland, Ohio and Brian
Edward Godt of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; two daughters, Denise Stephen and
husband Charles of Salem, Wisconsin and Terri Lyons and husband Bryan of Malad,
Idaho; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, James
Godt and wife Beverly of Canon City, Colorado, Richard Godt and wife Shirley of
Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and David Godt and wife Betty of Fort Wayne, Indiana;
four sisters, Glenda Olson and husband Allen of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Candy
Ziemer and husband Ken of Yellville, Arkansas, Sherrie Lien and husband Douglas
of Rio, Wisconsin and Melody Chapman and husband Gordon of Fort Wayne, Indiana;
and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Glen and Dorotha Godt and Joseph Wright; and a sister, Gloria Guy. Funeral
services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the
Rago–Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, with Pastor Thomas Dunbar
officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until
time of service. Interment will take place in Denzer Cemetery, Denzer, Wisconsin.
The Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas and the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home of
Baraboo, Wisconsin are assisting the family with arrangements.
