Margaret Helen Schaitel, 97, of
Baraboo, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Oak Park Place in Baraboo. Margaret was born on Dec. 11, 1920 at
her home in the Township of Greenfield, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Jahn)
Schlender. She attended Ikey Elementary School and was a graduate of Baraboo High
School. On Sept. 6, 1941, Margaret was united in marriage to Raymond Schaitel
in Baraboo. She had a wonderful life with him until his passing on Feb. 27, 1988. Margaret was a homemaker and had
worked as a retail clerk at Kiddie Kastle for several years. She dearly loved
spending time with family, especially her grandson, great-grandson, siblings
and their families. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Baraboo and will be truly missed by all who knew her. S urvivors include her daughter, Wendy
(William) Schulte; grandson, Lucas; and great-grandson, Calvin. In addition to
her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonita
(Gene) Heitke; sister, Lucille (Perry) Outhouse; two brothers, William and
Stuart Schlender; brother-in-law, Perry Outhouse; and two sister-in-laws, Doris
and Elizabeth Schlender. A private family interment will take place in Caledonia Methodist
Cemetery, Caledonia Township. The family would like to extend a special thank
you to the health care providers at Oak Park Place and SSM Hospice for their
loving care provided to Margaret. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St.,
Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
