Wanda M. McArthur
Wanda M. McArthur, 91, of Baraboo passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. Wanda was born on Sept. 21, 1924 in the Town of Freedom, to George and Adelia (Koenig) Schutz. She was baptized in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Baraboo, and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Springs in 1938. Wanda was united in marriage to Robert M. McArthur on May 7, 1954 at the Lutheran parsonage in Baraboo. He preceded her in death in 1992. Wanda was instrumental in the formation of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a charter member. She also held many church offices during her lifetime. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and her happiest times were spent with her grandchildren who she dearly loved. She is survived by her son, Steven A. McArthur of Chicago, Illinois; two grandchildren, Tatiana (Jonathan) Constable of Green Bay and Ian (Katharine) McArthur of Baraboo; two sisters, Eunice McCoy of Baraboo and Lois Schrimpf of Lake City, Minnesota; family member, Colleen McArthur of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and four nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Rohde in 2004. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Baraboo, with Pastor David Jensen officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church for purposes of the annual shoe-box children’s fund. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
