Calvin LeRoy Burris, 94, of North Freedom, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013. Cal was born on Oct. 5, 1919 in Forest Township (Vernon County), the son of Raymond and Louise (Hanneman) Burris. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II in Italy and North Africa. Cal retired in 1979 from Oscar Mayer in Madison after 29 years. Survivors include a sister, Darlene Cox of Baraboo; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Harley, Albert and Leonard. A Memorial visitation in memory of Calvin will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo.
