Reedsburg - Richard “Rich” L . Rachuj, age 64 of Reedsburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home. Richard, son of Clarence and Eleanor (Grund) Rachuj, was born on Jan. 8, 1949 in Chicago, Ill. He was united in marriage to Kathy O’Meara on June 27, 1981. Rich owned and operated RKE Seamless Gutters for 16 years. He loved the outdoors, especially swimming at Devil’s Lake and Blackhawk Lake. His greatest joy was his granddaughter, Audrey. Rich was a loving, caring, kind man that will truly be missed. He will be remembered for his humor and infectious laugh. Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Reedsburg; children, Richard Rachuj Jr. of North Freedom, Jeff (Sharon) Rachuj of Tinley Park,Ill., Elizabeth Rachuj of Reedsburg, and Leslie Hoffman of Wattsonville, Calif.; grandchilden, Audrey Rachuj and Aaron Hoffman; Mother, Eleanor Rachuj of Richland Center; siblings, Charles, Phillip (Carol) Rachuj, Joyce (Daniel) Latimer, Sandra Mazurowski, Carolyn (Paul) Radtke and Paul Rachuj; good friends, Bill (Chris) Deir; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rich was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emil and Frieda Rachuj; his maternal grandparents, William and Florence Grund; sister-in-law, Karen Rachuj; cousins, William and Dwight Mills; and a nephew, William Rachuj. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Ash Creek United Methodist Church, 28820 Henry Clark Lane, in Richland Center, with Pastor Phillip Stein officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Ash Creek Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
