Terrance "Terry" McCulloch
Terrance “Terry” McCulloch, age 71, of Baraboo, died on Feb. 24, 2013 at St. Clare Hospital. He was the first born to George and Evangeline McCulloch on Sept. 1, 1941, in Madison. Terry was a 1959 graduate of Monona Grove High School. He was proud to be on Monona Grove’s Badger Conference and All Conference football team in 1958, and the first baseball team to go to State in 1959. He joined the National Guard and was sent to Fort Lewis, Wash., in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis. Terry was a member of the 315 Carpenter’s Union since 1960, and worked for over 40 years for Sullivan Brothers in Madison. Terry was a proud and unapologetic liberal, and held strong beliefs in equality and justice for all people, and supported Planned Parenthood’s work. His greatest source of pride was in his three children and the way they live their lives, success in their work, and how they raise their children. Terry’s most cherished role was that of “Grandpa McCulloch” to his 11 grandchildren. He was known as their greatest fan and rarely missed one of their many activities and sporting events. Terry is survived by his sister, Sharon (John) Swiatek; sister-in-law, Ann McCulloch; and brothers, Dave (Louan Watters), Bill (Karen), Mike (Lisa) and Jeff. He is further survived by his son, Patrick and former daughter-in-law, Becky; and their children, Erika and Jake; a daughter, Deborah; and her son, Nathan Young; a son, Greg (Teresa); and their children, Taylor, Collin, Christopher, Thomas, Jacob and Ryan Lawrence; his best friend, partner, and love of his life, “The Boss” Trish Snowden; and her daughter, Missi (Tim) Selden, who has been like a daughter to him; and their children, Lilli and Jasmyn. Also surviving are extended family; and friends, including his many golf buddies, and friends from the Wellness Center. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and by his dear brother, Toby in 2011. Terry wanted to thank the VA in Tomah and Middleton, and especially thank his oncology team at the Milwaukee VA for the best healthcare he ever had. The family would like to thank the extraordinary and compassionate caregivers at St. Clare Hospital, Hospice House, and Home Health United Hospice, in Baraboo, and the many people who reached out during his illness. Terry was extremely proud to donate his body to the UW School of Medicine to help advance healthcare education. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at Spring Brook Golf Course, 242 Lake Shore Dr., Lake Delton, on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The family suggests memorials, in Terry’s memory, to be given to any of his caregiver organizations in Baraboo. The Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East St., in Baraboo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
